How To Become A Princess
Often during imaginary play a young girl’s fantasy is to be a beautiful princess in a grand castle, to wear gorgeous diamonds and beautiful clothes. Let’s step out of our fantasy world and into the real world for a minute.
So how does one become a Princess in real life?
There are various ways to become a Princess.
(1) If you are one of the lucky ones whose parents (or grandparents) are members of a royal family, you can then become a princess. A princess is simply the feminine form of a prince.
(2) Another way is – You can marry a prince! So if a prince marries you, there is a possibility that you too can be crowned a princess!
Here are a few examples of commoners becoming princesses:
- Princess Mary Donaldson (Denmark). Tasmanian-born and bred Mary Donaldson met her prince in a Sydney pub and, after a courtship of three years, married him with to become the Crown Princess of Denmark.
- Princess of Wales Diana (United Kingdom). Prince Charles had known Diana for several years, but he first took a serious interest in her as a potential bride during the summer of 1980, when they were guests at a country weekend, where she watched him play polo.
- Princess Letizia Ortiz (Spain). Letizia was a journalist before she married Felipe, Prince of Asturias, who is heir apparent to the Spanish throne.
